Ethics Governor in the Gutter Again
Beshear Gives Democrat Fund-raiser Cushy State Job
To say Governor Steve Beshear is a hypocrite would be like calling Howdy Doody a puppet. The man who campaigned as an ethics reformer has appointed Stephanie Bell, a well known Democrat fundraiser and founder of Frankfort's "Capital Club," to a $72,000 a year post at the Public Service Commission.
Herald-Leader Reporter John Cheves has the story on Pol Watchers. We'll see if the rest of the mainstream media goes ballistic with this story or do what they normally do and look the other way. Stephanie Bell worked for Paul Patton, has raised untold thousands for Democrat candidates and office holders, and was a huge contributor and fundraiser for Beshear. Don't you think it's odd that Bell organized the Capital Club fundraiser at the governor's mansion last week and then taxpayers get to pay her $72,000 a year salary?
The governor's abuse of power and disregard for the Commonwealth is transparent. He rewards contributors and fundraisers with big jobs while preaching bipartisanship and cooperation between Kentucky's two major political parties. Beshear is building on the monumental failures of the past Democrat governors while moving Kentucky backward. Thanks to reporters like Cheves and Ryan Alessi, we're learning more and more about Kentucky's so-called Ethics Governor. How long will it be until the rest of the news media wakes up? Read the full story for yourself.

Stephanie Bell, Frank Shoop and his lists , Tom Miller, Fontaine Banks, Paul Patton, Jennifer Chandler, Joe Prather, Tom Preston, Missy McCray Everything old is new again. All's right with the world. Kudos to the H-L for some jabs but don't hold your breath waiting for the follow-ups.

Let's see: Substitute "Fletcher" for "Beshear," then in the other proper name places, put in names like "Nighbert," "Rudolph," "Disponett," (hell, they even gave him an office in the GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, a personal secretary, and a reserved parking space!), "Ellen Williams," "Ball," "Teresa Hill," "Goss," "Branscum," and let us never forget those incompetent dirtbags "Daniel Groves" and "Brett Hall."
You hypocrites, put away that false piety. You are so bitter that you royally screwed up your chance, your irrational hatred knows no bounds.

When a BS Franklin County Grand Jury starts indicting and when the press stories are any where close to the Fletcher scrutiny let's talk 6:25. Beshear ran as a white horse reformer and it only took 6 months to show he's the same old same old. That's the story.

Hey, did you read David Hawpe's hard hitting CJ piece today about the wienerschnitzel in Munich? When he gets back state side he's really going to lay into the lack of ethics with this administration. He's a bull dog that guy. Maybe Loftus can dig up a Republican angle somewhere.

"Just a good ole boys, never meanin' no harm. Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law (or breaking it or making promises they'll never keep about ethics) since the day they was born."
Them Frankfort boys make Hazzard County look like the Vatican. Wonder if they'll hire ole' Boss Hogg if he gives enough money from that gamblin' operation in the back of the Boar's Nest?

Just poured myself a Maker's over ice, sat down, opened up the blog and found you guys goin' at it again. Gawd love it!
I miss it when y'all aren't trying to stab each other with a fork or pokin' eyes out. Go to it!!
By the way, don't ya just laugh out loud when Democrats start kickin' ole Ernie around when they get caught stealing and cheating, like they always have done since Henry Clay was a teenager??

5:38 P.M. So now, "Fletcher did it too" is a legitimate defense. That's hilarious. Beshear was going to be more ethical. You guys are really funny.

Yeah, 10:09, looks like the Dems borrowed your "They did it, too!" Funny how you Repubs thought it was so clever when you used it! Ain't it a scream?

So, it's okay if everyone abuses the public trust because the other guys did it too?

Anybody who didn't see this coming with Beshear wasn't paying attention to this guy's past. See pay day lenders, see Kentucky Central, see giving Jonathan Miller a job as thanks for withdrawing from primary (Gatewood was beating Miller!!!) Choke on it Dems

Except Fletcher DIDN'T do it, too.
Go ask anyone who was in the know, or better yet, read the depositions from the Missy McCray civil suit. You'll see that the Fletcher administration was trying to END the past practice of patronage.
If you want to see Democrat patronage in classic form, watch how the new branch managers are hired in the highway department's district offices under the new reorganization. There are 48 managerial positions available statewide and I'd be willing to bet the number of Republicans hired for those jobs will be between 0 and 5.

Quit writing stories like this. Frank Shoop isn't even half through his do list.
