Dan Wolff's pro-tax record
With only a few days until the January 8th special election to replace 63rd District State Rep. Jon Draud, new information has surfaced regarding Democrat Dan Wolff and his pro-tax, anti-school record.
As a member of the Fort Mitchell City Council, Wolff in 1998 voted to nearly triple his salary in a back-door "emergency" ordinance on the final day of the council session. Fortunately for taxpayers, Wolff's salary hike didn't pass. It was one of two salary increases he voted for.
He also voted YES to increase property taxes at the maximum rate allowed by law. Wolff also voted to impose a parks and recreation tax on Fort Mitchell residents.
Later, when local school officials asked to utilize the funding to repair the Beechwood School track, Wolff voted NO. He also voted NO to provide city funding for school crossing guards.
It's no wonder voters in the 63rd District are supporting former Homeland Security Director Alecia Edgington for state representative over Dan Wolff. His record speaks for itself: liberal and out-of-touch.

Context is a pretty important concept, you don't seem
to grasp. "As a member of the Fort Mitchell City
Council, Wolff in 1998 voted to nearly triple his
salary in a back-door "emergency" ordinance on the
final day of the council session." Sounds pretty bad
to me, let’s just hang him for his rogue like and
dastardly behavior! But wait! If memory serves me, we
live in a Democracy which requires a little thing
called evidence before conviction. Now how about you
publish your “evidence” rather than us just taking
your word on it.
Why don’t you give us a copy or links to the
following:
the council session minutes you paraphrased, not
quoted mind you.
the entire proposed ordnance cited
the wording involving the tax hikes cited
the wording for city funding for school crossing
guards cited
Now your either a serious politician/communications
operative or a progandist hack, which is it? A
serious politician/communications operative is
willing to deal in and supply supportable facts, are
you going to do that?

This is a good spin of half truths about a good man. If you check the KRS's you will realize incumbent city council members cannot vote themselves pay raises during their current term. The council salary increase goes into effect at the beginning of the next term after voters have selected the new councilmembers. If Dan got a salary increase then the voters of Fort Mitchell didn't have a problem with it because they had to re-elect him to council. Why should I pay for track repairs to a school district which has it's own taxing authority, the city has no control over this property. Again, why should I pay for school crossing guards when we have city police that could handle that issue. They are call school resource officers. I think Dan Wolff did one hellva job on city council. Dan will be the best man in the House of Rep.

Anyone with a ounce of sense would know that when the cities or counties raise property taxes they almost always take the compensating rate plus 4% as allowed by House Bill 44. If the cities and counties only took the compensating rate they would be losing money yearly. Generally when a city takes the compensating rate plus 4% the tax rate will be lower than the previous year but will generate more revenue because of higher property values. I think you need to check the tax rates for those years before print what could be lies about a good man. If I remember correctly the all republican fiscal court in Kenton County voted the maximum tax rate for the last several years.

Thanks, Rob, for enlightening us as to how much an ounce of sense weighs...about an ounce!

Badly need your help. Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right. Help me!
