Treasurer hopeful Melinda Wheeler issues "Clean Campaign" pledge
Melinda Wheeler, Republican candidate for Kentucky State Treasurer, today released the following statement to the news media:
"As the other campaigns this fall heat up with personal attacks, I would like to set the race for State Treasurer on a higher plane.
"I am pledging to the people of Kentucky that I will continue to run a clean, above-board campaign free of personal attacks. I ask my opponent, L.J. Hollenbach, to join me in this Clean Campaign pledge.
"We don't need opposition research folks skulking around looking into people's personal lives. We don't need to drag others through the mud in pursuit of a political office that has outlived its usefulness.
"It's my hope that my opponent joins me in this pledge. After all, at Fancy Farm just a few short weeks ago he said he was a man of virtue. At this time, I'll assume he meant it.
"The issue in this race is clear: Do the people of Kentucky want bigger government, or smaller government? My opponent and I differ on that; I'm for smaller government. As a career administrator in government, I understand how the people can be served more efficiently without unnecessary bureaucracy.
"The elected office of State Treasurer of Kentucky needs to be abolished. I'm the only candidate this year with the courage to state that obvious fact. We can save $3.2 million a year and return the money to taxpayers.
"We owe it to the people of Kentucky to be the best stewards of their tax dollars, because it IS their money. Not the government's."

Jonathan Miller's running Todd Hollenbach's campaign, telling him where to go and not to go. He hired a bunch of campaign goons to check out Ms. Wheeler. Op-researchers. Even got Mark Nickolas in the act. They're not only stupid but desperate trying to beat up on a grandmother.

Treasurer Jonathan Miller not only let Mark Nickolas evade paying state & federal taxes for 3 straight years, Miller also PAID Mark Nickolas to be a tax evador.
Some Treasurer Miller was, huh?
